

The EP performed extremely well with some of its singles accumulating more than one million views on YouTube. The EP which was titled ‘My Voice’ housed five songs 'Nenda', 'Tamu' ft Rayvanny, 'Nampenda' ft Rayvanny, 'Pombe' ft Rayvanny ft Leon Lee, and 'Mama Mwenye Nyumba'. Alongside the introduction, came the first EP from the rising star. In September 2021, Rayvanny officially introduced him as the first signed artist under Next Level Music. Rayvanny, being a good friend of Chege, negotiated a deal that saw him get signed as the first artist under his Next Level Music (NLM) record label. As fate would have it, Rayvanny also fell in love with the songs from Mac Voice. Mac Voice under UVM released several hits including ‘Damu Ya Ujana’, ‘Mama J’ and ‘Utarudi’. It is at that point that Chege took Mac Voice and started working with him at his record label called Unique Voice Music (UVM). Fortunately, his hard work bore fruits as celebrated musician Chege fell in love with one of his songs. He released several songs with the help of his friends who assisted him financially. He moved from Bagamoyo to Dar es Salaam in pursuit of his dream to be a superstar.Īfter moving to the city, he continued to produce music.

It is after dropping out of school that the youngster decided to pursue his passion for music. His mother could not afford to pay for the fees, and the manual jobs she did were not enough to sustain the family. He dropped out of school while in form one due to financial constraints. He was consequently raised by his mother who was a small-scale business person. His parents reportedly separated while he was 2-years-old. He was born and raised in Bagamoyo in the coastal region. Khamis Shaban Makalanga, popularly known as Mac Voice, is a 23-year-old Tanzanian artist.
